About Me

Hi! I’m Phil. I build social media strategies from the ground up and scale them into best-in-class, global programs that drive growth for tech companies.

My focus is on building communities, creating engaging content, growing channels, activating executives on social, and generating leads.

I bring a rare mix of strategy, creativity, and hands-on execution, turning complex products into clear, compelling stories that cut through.

Data-driven and AI-forward, I thrive in fast-moving environments and am an energy supplier to my teams.

I’ve spent the last decade in B2B tech at Equinix, where I joined as the company’s first full-time global social media hire and built their social strategy from the ground up. I took a North America focused presence and grew it into a global, best-in-class program as the company evolved into a Fortune 500 brand.

Before Equinix, I spent a decade in B2C tech at Nokia, based at their headquarters outside Helsinki, Finland. Working across social media and digital marketing roles there gave me deep experience operating at global scale and communicating clearly across markets, cultures, and channels.

I create and lead custom team-building activities for groups across the organization. Whether a team needs to align on goals, build trust among members, or boost energy, I am passionate about bringing out the best in teams in a fun and engaging way, whether in office, on Zoom, or in hybrid environments.

That same passion now fuels my Chief Fun Officer series, where I share original team-building games and activities designed to spark connection and energy in teams everywhere.

Creativity fuels my life outside of the workplace. My latest book, How To Marry a Finnish Girl, published by Gummerus Publishers, is now in its 12th print edition. I spend time designing board games, experimenting with sound design on modular synthesizers, and practicing photography. And when I step away from creative projects, you’ll often find me in Golden Gate Park with my keeshond, Bochy.

Thanks for spending time with my writing and creative projects. I’d love to connect with you on Email, Instagram, or LinkedIn
